In the lecture, Anna Kjær Voss takes the audience on an inspiring journey through the history of textile printing. From necessity and craft to today's creative and sustainable movement.
With historical narratives and current key figures, the lecture highlights the climate and environmental consequences of our huge clothing consumption. The clothing industry produces collections at a pace that burdens both people and the environment through production, transportation and waste.
But the talk also points to solutions: Wear the clothes you have. And when it breaks, fix it. Preferably with small, personal changes that give the clothes a new lease of life.
The lecture provides both knowledge, perspective and inspiration to see repair and recycling as an important part of the future clothing culture.
